Richard Benjamins

Dr. Richard Benjamins is chief AI & data strategist at Telefonica. During his professional career he has worked in academia, in various start-ups and in multinational corporations. One of his roles includes Chief Data Officer at AXA. His passion is to create value from data. He was the founder of the Big Data for Social Good area of Telefónica. He is co-founder and Vice President of the Observatory on the Social and Ethical Impact of Artificial Intelligence, OdiseIA, and is a member of the European Commission's expert group on data sharing between companies and governments in the public interest. He holds a PhD in Cognitive Science from the University of Amsterdam and has published over 100 scientific articles.
